The Standard Lift Cable Drum
When it comes to the standard lift cable drum, it works a little differently from the standard torsion spring. With this one, the torque transfers from the shaft to the cable drum, which pulls the cable and the bottom of the garage door upwards. The torque then works alongside the shaft held up by the end bearing plates, thus securing the garage door’s bottom bracket.
Both the standard torsion spring and the standard lift cable drum should allow you to open the garage door manually.
